About Helga | Mochi Loops & Letters from the Alps
Hello from the Austrian Alps!

Hi, I'm Helga, the person behind Mochi Loops and Letters from the Alps.
I live in the Tyrolean Region in Austria, surrounded by the mountains, little villages, changing seasons, and all the everyday things that make living here so special.
And I crochet.
I started crocheting because I simply love making things with my hands. There's something wonderfully satisfying about taking a ball of yarn and a crochet hook and slowly turning it into something cute and useful.
Over time, crochet became much more than a hobby for me. It became a way to slow down, be creative, and enjoy a little quiet time in an increasingly busy world.
That's how Mochi Loops began.
And then I had an idea...
I started thinking about how lovely it is to receive something in the mailbox that isn't a bill, an advertisement, or something you ordered online.
Something unexpected.
Something made with care.
Something that makes you smile when you open the envelope.
And I thought...
What if I could send a little piece of my life in Austria to someone who loves crochet too?
And that's how Letters from the Alps was born.
A Letter From Austria, Just for You
Each month, I'll send a little piece of life from the Austrian Alps to your mailbox.
You'll receive a beautifully illustrated letter from me, along with a collectible crochet pattern card created especially for Letters from the Alps.
The patterns are designed to be small, cute and enjoyable to make — something you can sit down with for a little while and finish without it becoming another big project on your to-do list.
And the cards are meant to be kept.
Over time, you'll build your own little collection of crochet patterns from the Alps.
But it's not really about the cards.
It's about the feeling of receiving a letter from afar.
I'll share little stories from where I live — the seasons, things I'm making, beautiful moments, traditions, perhaps a recipe or something I've discovered, and the little everyday things that make life in Austria special.
And I'll always bring it back to crochet, because that's the common thread that connects us.
You might be thousands of miles away, but for a few minutes each month, I hope it feels like we're sitting down together with a cup of coffee and a crochet hook.
You Don't Have to Be an Expert Crocheter
You don't need to be an amazing crocheter.
You don't need a huge stash of yarn.
And you certainly don't need to make everything perfectly.
Letters from the Alps is about enjoying the process.
A few stitches.
A little creativity.
A letter in your mailbox.
And something handmade at the end of it.
I'd Love for You to Join Me
If you love crochet, handmade things, beautiful mail, and the simple pleasure of receiving something special in your mailbox, I hope you'll become part of Letters from the Alps.
I'll be writing from Austria.
You'll be reading from wherever you call home.
And we'll meet in the middle — through a little yarn, a little paper, and a shared love of making.
Welcome to Letters from the Alps.
From my little corner of Austria to your mailbox. ❤️
