Materials to Make Your Amigurumi Ghost

Yarn: Bernat Velvet Yarn (10.5 oz), Color: White.

Hook: 5.0 mm (US H-8) hook- I used an ergonomic hook from clover amour

· Note: if you will be making the Bella Boo Halloween Dress up pack, you will need other size hooks. I suggest getting the entire clover amour set. Buy once and buy smart. You will love them for years to come.

Eyes: 14mm or 16mm safety eyes

Filling: Poly-Fil Crafter's Choice stuffing

Tools: stitch markers

Scissors: Saw these really cute handicraft scissors which come in all kinds of designs and colors.

Finished Size: Height: 12-14 cm (approx. 5 inches)
Work in continuous rounds.
Use a stitch marker to keep track.

Crochet Instructions

Part 1: Head & Body

Increasing Section

R 1: Make a magic ring. Sc 6 into the ring. (6)

R 2: Inc x 6. (12)

R 3: (sc, inc) x 6. (18)

R 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6. (24)

R 5–11: Sc around. (24)

👁️ Insert Eyes: Insert safety eyes between Rounds 8 and 9, spaced 4 stitches apart.

Arms (Made in Round 12)

R 12: We will make the arms as we go.

(Arm 1)
1 sc in the first stitch
Ch 4
1 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 hdc in the next 2 chs. (3 hdc)
Sc in the next 11 stitches.
(Arm 2) use same pattern as Arm 1
Sc in the remaining 12 stitches. (24 sts total)

R 13:

Sc in the first stitch. Skip Arm 1 and push it to the front.
Sc in the next stitch.
Sc in the next 11 stitches.
Skip Arm 2 and push it to the front.
Sc in the remaining 12 stitches. (24)

R 14–19: Sc around. (24)

Continue stuffing the ghost.

Part 2: Base

Closing the Ghost

R 18: Sc around. (24)

R 19: Working in the BLO, sc around. (24)

Tip: The unused FLO from this round will be used later to crochet the decorative trim.

R 20: (2 sc, sc dec) × 6. (18)

Tip: Begin stuffing the ghost. Add a little more stuffing after each remaining round for a smooth, even shape. Gently flatten the base as you stuff so your ghost will sit nicely.

R 21: (1 sc, sc dec) × 6. (12)

Continue stuffing until the ghost is firm and evenly shaped.

R 22: Sc dec × 6. (6)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Thread the yarn tail onto a tapestry needle (or use the no sew crochet hook method described in video). Weave through the front loops of the remaining 6 stitches and pull tight to close the opening. Weave in the end inside the ghost.

Decorative Trim

Join your yarn in the back of the ghost into any unused FLO from Round 19.

Border Round - sc, ch 1, sc
Closing border -Join with a sl st to the first sc. Fasten off and weave in the end.
